Team Bragg at Jardy 2018 20th July 2018

We are just returning from what can only be described as an awesome trip to France. We headed over there as quite a small team. Just myself, Simmone and the super groom that is Heather. Percy, Alcatraz and Zagreb were all on board. They travelled well and were soon settled in. All of them were feeling good from their prep runs at Barbary last weekend. The sun also followed us from the UK and we were soon enjoying the amazing facilities.

Team Bragg at Jardy 2018 : Day 1

Alcatraz was first to go, and he performed a lovely consistent test to leave him with a score of 31. This leaves him in a competitive position going into the jumping phases. This is only my second competition with Alcatraz but already he is proving to be quite a pro. The first day gave us lots of time to enjoy Haras De Jardy and give the boys a leg stretch.

Onto the 3* Dressage the following day and again this is only Shannondale Percy’s second 3* so we just want him to get a good experience. A nice test left him in the top third going into the jumping, again a nice competitive spot. I know he’s a machine Cross country, so I was happy with that position.

Then Zagreb stole the show and landed us a personal best of 23.6 in the ERM Dressage. He is truly a championship horse and he loved the surface to score a terrific mark. I couldn’t have been prouder of him. I think the pictures all speak for themselves! Onto the show jumping and the boys all did me proud. Every one of them jumped their socks off to give me 3 perfect clear rounds. Well I say perfect, with Zagreb I think I was a bit too concerned about the time over the first three fences and rode maybe a little keen. However, Zagreb showed his class and pulled it out of the bag.

Team Bragg at Jardy 2018 : Cross Country Fun

Cross country time and again the boys were super! Percy storming round to put himself into third position in his second ever 3*-what a horse!! Then Zagreb gave us all a masterclass in the ERM Cross country flying over everything finishing comfortably inside the time. Leading from the very start he is a horse dreams are made off.

All three horses performed amazingly, all jumping double clear and coming home with prizes.

In only my second competition with Alcatraz, he put in a fab performance to finish 9th in the 2*. There will be great things to come with this horse!

Shannondale Percy, who’s only 8 years old was a total star and finished 3rd in the CIC 3*. I have a really good feeling that this horse is going to be a superstar!

Zagreb stole the show at Jardy by winning the ERM in style. He led from start to finish to complete on his dressage score of 23.6 for a fantastic victory.

Team Bragg at Jardy 2018 : The final Day

Finally, Alcatraz also smashed the XC to give us a top ten finish! What a show and what a bunch of horses.

Thanks to everyone for your support, your kind words help drive us on to success! Massive thanks to all our owners, without them weekends like this would not be possible. Also my amazing support team whilst I’m up there steering- you all make the dream come true.

All is good in the Team Bragg camp and I think there will be some parties this week!!
